What is This

Post by Ladybird66 » Mon Jun 10, 2019 10:39 pm

As a reasonably experienced searcher I almost feel embarrassed posting this. But, someone, yesterday, suggested the up-load was a bit slow and I thought this might give some a chance to exercise their imagination.
It’s brass, I think, and was recently brought up by the plough, so not very deep. Sad to report it was my best find, (apart from the biggest horse buckle I’ve ever seen) on the way back to the car.
Have a look and see if you can ID it.
The bananas have since been dispatched to my tummy :D

I do like the use of the bananas, you could start a trend :D
could it be the squashed wick holder from a oil lamp? The hole covered by the bent over bits?

Allectus has it in one, again. That’s what I thought it was after I’d washed it. What amazes me is how flat it’s been squashed. Thought it was going to be a nice makers plate.

Just a curiosity and one for the bucket ::g Made a nice change from iron, I seem to be having a run on that at the mo. ;;z

Thanks for responses :D.

p.s. bananas went down well. Note to self, get some blue tack.

I find kumquat have an unexpected adhesive quality and will balance the most awkwardly-shaped item rather well. And you can scoff it afterwards, which can't be said for blu-tack. Unless you've had a few gins, of course

After looking at the ‘up-right’/banana pic again I must admit it is somewhat suggestive rl;

Eh? Oi, Shakespeare, LB started it! I mean, fancy introducing fruit. If that ain't an incitement to go off topic I don't know what is.

Not my fault.
