Brooch, badge.... modern hinge...?

Post by HolzHammer » Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:39 pm

Evening All,
Any help with this much appreciated; copper alloy, drilled field, Herts - just shy of 4cm wide/long.
It looks to have some age and originally I thought the markings may have been letters but now I'm not so sure. Anyway its a new one on me but any knowledge gratefully accepted!
All the B

It's a nice find whatever it is - looks like it was some sort of swivelling clasp, but for what, I have no idea :) Look forward to seeing the experts' comments.

My immediate thought on seeing it was a book clasp, but can't work out how it might have fitted...waiting for the official ID :)
