Bronze finger ring?

Post by Paulmlpss » Sun Nov 10, 2019 8:08 pm

Hi all I found this ring today in a stubble field with my ace 400i. Looks like a ring but was wondering if anyone knows the age etc? Had a look on Google and it seems they made rings out of copper alloy. Hopefully someone can help.

It doesn't look that old to me but these things are a swine to date in the hand, let alone from a photo. :D

I'd agree on it being a finger ring rather than one of those ubiquitous other types so often found.
I have a decorated copper alloy (bronze) example (found in 1980 - New Years Day) and subsequently identified by BM as being 17th C and of 'peasant' origin so it may be of a similar period?
Whatever age, It certainly appears to be handmade. ::g Regards ss47

Can't see anything on the inside. Was hoping I could once I cleaned the mud off it.
