If you use one from the web make sure you print it at 100% and then importantly get a tape measure or ruler and check it is correct. As some printers might adjust the scale which in this case is a very bad idea!

As an alternative or if you need something larger how about a sheet of graph paper with 1cm squares and add your own numbering along the sides.

Very good point made by Saffron. Unless one sets one's printer correctly, the scale will get larger as it moves to the right of the paper. Of those that I have downloaded and tried, the error is significant. Easily overcome with the correct printer settings though.

I can never seem to get the various downloadable scales to print at the correct size....there seems to be an element of voodoo needed to get the things to print properly which is beyond me...

With that in mind, couldn't somebody produce MDF photoscales and sell them in the shop for a reasonable price? I am sure they would sell....

I actually have their credit card sized scale but have not used it yet...

But with regards to the L shaped ones, I am not overly keen on the design and also think that at nearly £10 (by the time p&p is added) they are also a bit expensive for what they are...

This one is great but is £16 delivered. They are metal but not very cheap.

The credit card sized one is great though ::g
