Afternoon off work

Post by paint » Wed Nov 13, 2019 5:45 pm

Had a few hours to spare today so decided to spend some time on my roman field, popped out another 4 romans not sure of dates also a selection of buckles which would be nice if any of them could be roman, but I don’t think so :(
Also found a Canadian Edmonton regiment badge they were formed for the First World War nice bit of gilding on this one
Not sure what the iron object is but looks interesting then two other coins gorge 5th 1930 penny and a William shilling which should be silver so I think this must be a forgery are some forgeries more sort after than the real coin and is there a book on forgeries and what to look out for?
Thanks for any help on this
Cheers paint

Good day out I'd say and a wide variety of finds. ::g

Could the iron object be a log splitter? wooden shaft through the hole - whack the pointed end into the log like using an axe then pound the knobbly end with a hammer? Probably used with a couple of other similar 'wedges' ? Just a thought.
