Thinking of buying full deus BUT!!!

Post by DelphiOne » Tue Jul 09, 2019 9:36 pm

Im thinking of buying a full deus setup But im wondering if a new XP machine may be on it's way sometime soon. £1200 seems alot to spend if it's replaced by a new model not long after purchase.
Has there been any whispers of a new machine? maybe a reveal at one of the major rallies this year.

No whispers of a new machine from XP! The machine is updatable - software changes mean it can be like getting a new machine for free :D

They have also created new coils.

It’s a component based machine so you can ‘improve’ or add to a machine without throwing the rest away.

Hope that helps ::g

It may seem to be an issue ,but the software updateability of the models is a bonus.

I have owned a XP Deus for 11 years and It has served me well.

Last Saturday I had over 500 finds on show at the Village annual fair/open day.

All located in their area with the Deus.

Its a annual chance for the local people of all ages to see what those who lived there for 2.000 years left behind.

All the machines that I have owned over many years did the job, but the XP Deus has been a new experience.

Finds have included coins and artifacts in gold,Silver and other metals but the most valuable was just a old 1658 copper penny which now resides in America.Other finds are in museums.

Enough of that, my main point is the XP Deus has served me well and also for many other WHRADA members.

Shop around for the best price.

Thus speaks a man who knows his machine and can interpret its signals - I can't claim to be an expert, but the Deus has for me certainly produced more than any other machine I've played with. Shop around and you may find a good second hand bargain.

You're looking good for somebody who's been around for 2000 years, Jerry :)

Very good question regarding potential new machines, detecting is all about chasing rainbows, but I guess that when it comes to choosing a detector, we only have the machines that are actually out there.. I would just go for the latest model, and then get on with the job of chasing your rainbow.
Hope that helps.

The Deus is a decade old, which does make you wonder if XP are going to be releasing something new in the fairly near future. The fact that the Deus has aged very well is heartening though. Its still one of the very finest detectors on the market. The fact that XP are still releasing new products for it, like the X35 & HF coils, not to mention the RUMOURED forthcoming X-48 multi frequency coil, it does seem that the the Deus is gonna be relevant for a few years yet. It does seem that XP are going down the road of enhancing the Deus rather than deleting it, at least for the time being.

Just my tuppence...

I don't know anything about Deus, so software apart, has the basic machine changed much since it's introduction?

The coils have all been updated, they introduced the WS5 headphones and apart from that no - but as the software is the thing that makes it work and the coil is the thing that finds things is there much more to update?
