What's your footwear for the hot months?

Post by Mud Max »

Do you sweat it out in the wellies, or do you have a favourite summer boot/shoe. I wore trainers the other day and had a sore foot from the dry tough soil.

What's your choice on the feet for the summer?

I think that's as good a choice as any - dry weather requires footwear with good ankle support especially when on ploughed land. It's no fun taking a tumble risking damage to yourself :( (or your machine) :-O! Cheers ss47

Composite safety boots. Support the ankle and have a rigid shank inserted to stop anything penetrating the sole so good for digging. Also being non metal is a must when metal detecting. Hope that helps.

Just be careful of ticks ... as you can get very nasty diseases . so whatever boots you wear one needs to think about covering up the legs and arms etc.

I wear walking boots if its hard and rough going...but though they support the ankle they are heavy and I have had to remove the metal eyelets from them.
I usually have an old pair of garden shoes I use in the summer. Ordinary flat brogues with velcro fastening and with a thick rubber sole.
As OA says....perhaps more important is your choice of legwear. Even if its tempting to wear shorts I always wear trousers tucked into thick socks.
After a late summer scuffing though stubble the shoes tend to be in shreds. lol

Brown brogues. After all, what else is a chap supposed to wear below the breeks?

Standards, old boy, Standards.

I hope you have your Man on hand to re-roll your Panama and serve you a properly chilled snifter after you come off the field.

After I come off the field? That's when we usually broach the second bottle. :D

Serious reply to the OP is metal-free walking boots.

I have some salomon fabric walking boots, only metal is a couple of speed lacing hooks high up at the ankle.

Use these all year round.
