Hello 'corter' ::g For a full description of the 800 and 600 Equinox models, I'd suggest you visit the official Minelab Website or contact your nearest dealer. Regards ss47

I'll prob end up with an 800 at some point...Will the finds ballon on me ...prob not....good luck

I would also say if you have the money and can find the 800 in stock, get it. The wireless headphones and other extras are worth at least some of the difference. And you will have the gold modes and finer adjustments on a few things.

Really, though, with my 600, I doubt I missed a thing that would have been found with the 800. There really isn't any meaningful difference in most hunting. The only 800 feature I have missed so far is the variable backlighting. The 600 is either on or off, and on is way too bright for my eyes at night.

The ability to save a user profile (i.e. effectively a personised programme) on the 800 might also be useful to some people. ::g

Just ordered a 600 thinking getting one would be quicker than getting an 800 but the answer to how long waiting time was basically depends what and when Minelab send us some if they send us some ! i just hope that Minelab dont put everything into 800 production at the cost of 600 availability .
I imagine that the dealers must be sick and tired of the whole sorry saga.

I had my first outing with the 600 on the beach yesterday. I went, having made up my mind on what initial settings I wanted. One of which was Iron Bias...4.
Guess what, another difference between the 600 and the 800. The 600 in Beach 1 wont let you go beyond 3.
No mention of it in the manual, that I can see, but there you have it. Fortunately it seemed to be high enough and combined with recovery at 3 and All Metal I made my way along the low tide mark.
But unfortunately as soon as I saw the beach I knew I’d be lucky to find anything. I know my local beach like the back of my hand so when I couldn’t see my ‘land marks’ I knew the sand was very high.
It was a very informative outing and I have to say, the more I get to know the Nox, the more I love it. I did find one or two bits that were higher in the sand and 1 coin in a gully by the Harbour outlet. Walking along the gully I could see how high the sand was on either side and estimated there was maybe, upwards of an extra couple of feet.
I was really impressed with the pin pointer. I haven’t been able to pin point on that beach with any of my previous detectors because of the scrap and iron ore. Move an inch, get another signal. The new feature on the Nox pin pointer gets round that problem. It’s great.
So....I’ve decided to keep it :D

The difference between the iron bias setting on the 600 and 800 is at the top of page 52 of the manual. There is 0 through to 3 on the 600. The 3 setting equates to 6 on the 800 so it is quite high, I would suggest 1 or 2 at most.

Well done on getting out and I'm glad it went ok. I had two very educational sessions on a beach this week which I will write up if I ever find the time. ::g

Thanks for pointing that out Fred ::g I have seen it before but it didn’t register. Now I know I’ll drop it down next time out.
No wonder I thought it was working well rl;
