Now the realy interesting observation. The on board pin pointer is way off. (Unless I’ve got it wrong !). I was under the impression that the centre of the coil was ground zero. Not on mine it isn’t. I was getting dig centre in the upper quarter left. The double signal gave 2 dig centres, upper left quarter and 2nd open space right on coil. Double checked by hubby.

That is an interesting observation, I shall check mine tomorrow ::g

Excuse me but the bloke in the second video says that he hasn't got a response but I can hear a classic 'coin on edge' double blip? I presume that his complaint is that he isn't getting a single hard signal. All that I would say is that it how Minelabs have always signalled coins on edge. As far as I am concerned that's a digger any day of the week. :D

Tested in not too good conditions(in my flat.), and seemed fine. But, it didn't pick it up on edge completely covered in a pile of rusty nails!
Hopefully that will be rectified in an update.

I decided to sent the Equinox Video link to The Equinox 800 Detect Modes to our ML Business Development Director here in North America to see if what kind of response from ML USA I would, if any, receive. Please keep in mind that this is not my video. It is the same video link that I posted here on our Equinox Family Forum. For your information, etc. from my information received. Hope this may help??

Thank you for your inquiry. As the gentleman states in the video, our Engineers are working directly with him to determine what is happening in these situations. Once they determine what the issue is and how it can be corrected, we will make a notice out to users. I personally have found that going in one direction, I get a solid hit, and then at 90 degrees, it still gets an ID, but jumps a bit.

DEB .... Business Development Director – North America

I was hoping I could get a link or address to a ML tech center here. But for now this is the best I could do? With more searching hopefully I may be able to reach them if necessary. SP

Dear Sir ... Rather new here and an SC, but I haven't the foggiest of what you mean or talking about?
Please explain ... as I prefer you do not send a V.1 or V.2 my way ... until I know what you have in mind. Thank you for you're understanding. ::g

im guessing the software version on the nox is version 1 ( v1) so if they bring out an update that will probably be version 1.1 ( v1.1) .

hope that helps

It was in development and testing for so long that it could already be v21.27! :D

I am out tomorrow for the first time in ages so I will have a little play with the settings myself. To date I hadn't really noticed much difference between Field 1 and Field 2 except for the higher Recovery Speed setting but we shall see. ::g

problem is fred you would never know in the field if it was a problem, as you would never find a coin on edge so never know you`d missed it so never know there was a problem if you get my drift =))

unless of course you find a coin on edge, then there is no problem to find ;))

Of course, but I've sort of got the hang of Field 1 so I am minded to have a detailed play with Field 2. Perhaps I can get it to do something that Field 1 won't. ::g

As far as coins on edge go I think that the whole thing is a bit OTT simply because I dig almost everything which gives a positive sound and as far as I can see even coins on edge give those. Having said that if Minelab can make them give a better signal then so much the better. :D

Also what I can do is give my fields a thorough going over with a Mode which will find hammies on edge and see what I've missed. ::g Funnily enough it is exactly this kind of experimenting that makes the Nox such great fun.

I see Sid has a new video out regarding this. The problem appears to be related to both park 1, and field 1, and as I am a field 2 man myself, I am not too bothered :D :D ::g

As one of the comments said in Sid's video, the chances of a coin being absolutely vertical in the ground is pretty minimal.

Worst part about it the testers where telling everyone what programmes to use i,e park 1 field 1 etc how embarassing is that tells you all you need to know about what they knew lol, Field 2 always imo
Xp Deus.
