Equinox 600- any problems on wet sand or downloading updates

Post by NigelH » Fri May 31, 2019 3:10 pm

I am thinking of buying an Equinox 600 as I need a new beach detector. Things have changed a lot since I bought my old detector and I can see that you now have to download updates to it. Is this fairly easy to do and has anyone had problems doing this? Also does it work well on wet sand? Thanks for any help that you can give me.

The most recent report was that new Noxes come with the latest software already installed no need to do anything. It also works brilliantly on wet sand once you have sorted out the setup, for which advice abounds. You will need a little patience to start with but if you have any problems we will do our best to help you. ::g

No problems at all on wet sand. The machine is a pleasure to use on the beach and pretty easy to set up the machine so that you can go from wet sand to dry sand without needing to change settings each time.

It's supposed to be a bit more reliable on silvers on edge. It's no great shakes to install and I have heard of very few problems uploading it. ::g

Whoever you decide to buy it off will, or should, know if it’s up-dated. Just ask. I’ve had mine a while now so I did up-date mine. If I can do it, you certainly will ::g (if you have to )

It’s great on the beach, wet or dry. My local beaches are littered with deep old rubbish and the 600 separates the signals so easily it’s untrue. Also the pin pointer locks onto a signal, if you get a good one, and doesn’t jump around like other machines I’ve had.

Thanks for all your helpful advice. You have reassured me that it is the right detector for beach detecting.
