Laser Scout

Post by chrisj24 » Sat Sep 07, 2019 2:15 pm

Hi all,

I'm one of the newbies here, going on my first dig next weekend. I've been loaned a Laser Scout detector to 'have a go with. Any advice about using it? Things to be aware of?

Chris

Great machines. Very nimble and pinpointing is a doddle. You don't need to swish one of these about. A small swing and not too fast. Get it nice and balanced and get as far into the red sensitivity-wise as you can. Listen out for little chirps and then home in on them. (Do a quick waggle over them to lock on. Swing over it east-west then move round and go over it at 90 degrees and if it stays crisp then you are in business.
