Re: Rutus coils on MDF shop
As BM says, thanks for the info - I'm intrigued by the tiny Rutus coil - it says it's intended for searching for coins in extremely littered areas - OK but it must also have its uses for woodland / between hard stubble and it should pass through long grass, etc. fairly easily (if you've got all day to intensively search a very small area!) - It's basically a flattened pinpointer. £60? might be worth a punt. I was selling my Alter 71 but due to complete lack of interest I've decided to keep it.

I've got the Rutus sniper coil and Mars Goliath...
Sniper - yep great in woodland and although you lose depth it gives great and really clear signals when it hits.
Goliath - I've just done an airtest comparison vs the standard DD coil. I ran in Deep with Sensitivity in full and used a George V Silver Shilling, DD coil was about 13"... the Goliath about 18". Signals degraded rapidly on both after 10" but that's a lot of extra depth.
