Brilliant, could it be tiles aswell? id like to be able to try and identify roman etc building mats if possible. Can this be used as a id section?

Yes all those type of finds would certainly be fitting within this sub forum ::g

Maybe a change of title maybe ideal to cover these types of find ::g

Thanks

This is an excellent addition, I am often curious about the shards that I pick up. Is there any protocol for getting an I/D on a piece?

Pete, if by 'protocol' you mean 'does the HAMMY code apply?' then consider that while sherds may not necessarily require a scale when you're asking about the type of pottery/ceramic/etc , other ID requests will, and it's always best to include a scale as a matter of course, job done ::g

Details of machine used etc... we'll take it as read that it was the Mark I eyeball and the depth was 0 ;)
Essential equipment:
Some sort of electrical gubbins(I'm told it's a Deus). In various colours
Jenkins
Gin.

Can we include limericks and haiku in this section?

They told me I’d never be any good at poetry, because I’m dyslexic, but so far I’ve made 3 jugs and a vase.

I beg to differ. With regards haiku the most suitable place is Japan ;)

I've moved the three threads I could remember about over to the new forum and if anyone has one they'd like moved across then just pm one of us and we'll sort it.

No new pottery threads since the forum was opened, so 2kg of Blackadder's stash of jelly beans to anyone with some stuff to show ::g Offer lasts one month.

Found about 1000 of those (BA, IA, Ro, Me, all off. registered) :D
And lots more modern ages. I pick up all serious old ones, and more special ma ones.
