New member from South Africa/Canada

Post by pbzepplin » Thu May 09, 2019 9:35 am

Hi there. I am new in Manchester. I started detecting in South Africa, mainly finding relics of the British Army that was stationed there in the 1800s. I have been in Canada on the Prairies for the last year and a half, and that was pretty bleak in terms of artifacts. I am looking forward to finding artifacts with more age here. I would like to join a club or an informal group of likewise enthusiasts!

Welcome to the forum. Hopefully someone will point you towards a nearby club or rallies.

I have a friend in Cape Town who has detected for many years, but mainly in and under water. Anglo-Boer relics do not interest him as much as finding gold.

Firstly pbzepplin welcome to the UK and the forum.

I have an interest in WWI so noted the "zepplin" in your user ID, is there any significance?.

GeorgeMK,
I wonder why your friend was more interested in the gold =)) =))

I think the user name pbzepplin is very clever, Pb being lead (led).

Evan, I think a gold ring from the shoreline probably beats a Martini/Enfield/Mauser case on most occasions.
