It was always a real tough job getting permission to search anywhere back then and I think that is why I probably drifted away from the hobby.
These days I live near the south coast so there are miles and miles of beach just down the road and as I work for myself I can pretty much get out and about any time I want. Spending a couple of days a week on the beach is no problem at all. Perfect opportunity to take up detecting again
I have asked about detectors in another post which hopefully will appear as soon as a mod approves it.
