Hello from North Staffs

Post by meirmonkey » Sun Aug 11, 2013 4:38 pm

Hi all, I'm new to the forum today. It's been a long time since I have done any metal detecting but I'm thinking of starting again. I cant find any reference anywhere to the Club I belonged to so not sure if there is one in Stoke any more? I will probably order a new detector in the next few days so if there is anyone local who fancies meeting up for a spot of detecting then please drop me a line.
Cheers,
Simon.

Hi Simon, welcome to the forum from another Stokey. There is a club based at Smallthorne but as far as I'm aware membership is full. Don't forget to get your n.c.m.d membership before you go out on any permission you may have just to cover yourself. Good luck for the future and maybe we'll meet up sometime.
Gareth.

Welcome to the forum mate from another stokie. Caddy is right, the local club is full and they are hard to get hold of. After a name change they have gone invisible.

Hi There. came across this post by accident. Yes we're still here, est 1978 one of the oldest clubs in the country. We had a name change back in 2013 as North Staffs Historical and Search Society was too much of a mouthful. Yes our membership is capped & full. Any potential new members are by invite only., but we do not recruit very often. We are a happy club with around 55 members, have regular club outings & some nice finds. Cheers. Hello. I'm Alan H from Eccleshall and I would like to start this as a new hobby later this year. If there are any small groups or individuals I might be able to tag along with, or at least get some tips from, I'd like to hear from them, please. I'd be ok to meet up within a Stoke, Congleton, Uttoxeter, Stafford-ish area. I have some time both during the week and at weekends.
Cheers.
AH
