The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedif you haven't already seen this the nokta simplex is now for sale
https://www.noktadetectors.com/metal-de ... -detector/ well almost ![]() Just using the Force
![]() Re: the Nokta Makro simplex has arrivedWhilst most features look really impressive! Waterproofing would be a big bonus, I can't say that I have ever thought "I really wish my detector had a torch on it"
I'm sure there are a certain group who would enjoy that, though I don't think they should be encouraged. Unless you might use the torch aspect underwater? (never been dive detecting so not sure if this is what it's aimed at?) Garrett ACE 400i

Re: the Nokta Makro simplex has arrivedThe Racer 2 also has a "torch", it lights up the coil area.
I will admit that I thought it was a bit of a "gimmick" ..... until one day as about to pack up due to it being nearly dark when I got a good signal, could I find it and boy did that torch come in very handy!!. Evan
Re: the simplex has arrivedthe torch is handy for those early morning starts on the beach when your governed by tide times and its dark mornings in winter, but yes unfortunatly its also good for those not so honest people that detect at night in places they shouldn't be.
it looks a very good well built machine for the money, i started with a £289 detector and ive had machines upto £900 and to be honest the more expensive ones have never found me anything the cheapest one didn't. got to be worth a punt for that price if your in the market for a new machine neil Just using the Force

Re: the simplex has arrivedlooks to be a lot of machine for an entry level price though why anyone would want to illuminate their coil eludes me and i cant see why any night hawker would want to go about their dishonest activities swinging a torch.
waterproof is the way to go and its worth a punt at that price tag for those who want to "play on" when the heavens open ![]() lots of MD related stuff
![]() Re: the simplex has arrivedIt hasn't arrived just yet.
Although they are advertising it no dealers have it in stock. The rumour is it will start shipping sometime around the end of August/Early Sept but that is subject to change. Pre-orders are being taken but still no one knows how long before it arrives. Specs look amazing for the money but of course we need to test it before we know just how good it is.
Re: the simplex has arrivedOff topic replies removed, please remember this is the Nokta / Makro specific forum
![]() Thanks mrix Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedWell !!..if it's from the Nokta /Makro stable it's a quality Metal Detector.
But..well, that's just me !! Good hunting..whatever!! ![]()
Re: the simplex has arrivedit dose say at the bottom of the post, well all most ![]() I had it confirmed by nokta it will ship at the end of this month Just using the Force
![]() Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedMorning Neil
That’s a hell of a lot of features for the money, I’d like to see how it performs on your test bed. If you get one I’ll bring down a Deus and Equinox to compare and I hope it does. Robert
Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedyour welcome down here any time rob, the test beds almost done if the rain would give me a break to get it finished

![]() Re: the simplex has arrivedI was told the 29th by a dealer but that was denied by LP who are the UK distributors. They said Nokta have not given a launch date. Nokta are saying that they "expect" to ship at the end of this month but that is subject to change. Just don't want anyone pinning their hopes on a certain date when that actually may not happen. Remember the Simplex was due to go on sale in the Spring...according to Nokta so I would forget any dates until it actually happens.
Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedall I can say is dilek told me on the phone yesterday it will ship at end of month

![]() Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedYeah just heard from another dealer that they have been told end of the month too. Hope that is the case but not knowing for sure, when I do need another detector is a bit frustrating.
Re: the simplex has arrivedNokta / Makro do have a good reputation for testing machines before they are released. I do not know where the "Simplex was due to go on sale in the Spring" came from or how firm that statement was; however if it was intended to lauch in the spring and has been delayed by a few months then they would have discovered potential issue(s) when they did more extensive testing prior to the inital spring date and wisely delayed the release until the issue(s) were resolved and then taken time to extensively test the change(s). Much better to do this than release the machine then users find a fault once a lot have been sold. I am certain that it will be a good machine and good value for the money, like the previous detectors Nokta / Makro have produced. Evan Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedIt was just a comment Dilek made at IWA back in march. Actually she said they "hoped" to get Simplex to us before Summer so I stand corrected on that one.
It was just the software they were working on because the prototype had only two modes working back in March so so I think they needed to sort out beach mode and park mode. Seemed to be pretty solid in terms of hardware though.
Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedIf they are after taking the entry level/ mid range market it will have to be special in my eyes just wish the testers would crack on lol

![]() Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedIf you have a US visit planned they are pre-ordering at £209

Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedis that not plus tax ? our price includes vat
neil Just using the Force
![]() Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedIt would depend which state. Even at a higher state rate of 10% (combined sales tax and state tax) it's still only £230 cf. £299 here, and some states and on-line sellers are less than 2%. The dollar rate is poor at the moment but that's still an amazing price if you happen to be over there when it's released or have colleagues there who travel here. Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedIt’s not the American tax that’s the problem it’s our UK import tax and good old VAT that you are charged by HMRC when you import things from America.
Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedThat's why you need someone travelling. I think the current allowance for items from outside the EU is £390 (in total). However, thousands of luggage items routinely come back from the US with a combined higher value (clothes, golf clubs, electrical gear, fishing gear, tools etc) and are not declared. In fact when they are declared I know customs haven't been interested. It really is up to the individual to know the law but I suspect more than one detector in the UK started life at a lower price in the US. Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedNot sure where Nokia are going with this, as if it lives up to the hype, it will kill the Racer 2 off and probably dent sales in the basic Kruzer also...

![]() Re: The Nokta Makro Simplex has arrivedWould not be surprised if they dropped the Racer 2 and single frequency Kruzer. It would make for a much more streamlined line up.
