Help With Small Roman Coin Please

Post by saffronspice » Thu Aug 15, 2019 6:13 pm

This was found on stubble about 3'' down with my Deus XP on a hot and dry day.
It appears to be lead and so I haven't washed it...on the back is an adult male with a staff holding a child's hand...almost could be St. Christopher.
Really appreciate some help! (Scale in centimetres.)

A lovely Christian image? Can see where you may get that impression but, as said above, the captive (usually depicted smaller than the captor to denote dominance) ain't exactly headed for a bible class :)) In fact his head might not be involved for much longer.
Essential equipment:
Some sort of electrical gubbins(I'm told it's a Deus). In various colours

The Valentinian dynasty massively upped the lead content in their coins in the 360s/70s hence the degraded powdery lead appearance.
